Wir feiern 65 Jahre FolklorWe celebrate 65 years of folklore dance at the TU Dresden!

“Dance folklore is immortal. Nourished by the traditions of primitive peoples, kept alive across artificially created national borders, enriched by exchange, it still shows today how the folk art of dance has continuously developed.” (DNN, 22.11.15)

No, we did not celebrate the retirement on 21.11.2015 in the Kulturhaus Freital, but celebrated 65 years of folklore dance at the TU Dresden and our successful continuation – with 20 choreographies, danced by young talents, our active ensemble members and TUTE alumni.

The folklore dance ensemble “Thea Maass” from TU Dresden with dancers from all over the world would also like to set an example for xenophilia and a culture of togetherness in Dresden and is therefore showing solidarity with the “#WOD – Initiative weltoffenes Dresden”. Our ensemble is also emphatically positioning itself for an open society, tolerance and solidarity, not least in Saxony, and is calling for participation in the star run under the motto “Herz statt Hetze” on Monday, 19.10.2015 in Dresden!

Hungarian fire and German folklore at the International Folklore Festival Summerfest 2015 in Szazhalombatta

Our dancers and musicians experienced 10 breathtaking festival days in Szazhalombatta (Hungary) at Summerfest 2015 together with 600 dancers from 19 countries around the world. The stages were gigantic, the audience enthusiastic, the temperatures very sweaty, the nights quite short and the atmosphere excellent. A report with photos and videos.
