Our artistic director Maud Butter was a guest in Japan from October 7-21, 2017 as part of a six-person delegation of dance experts from the German Federal Dance Association in cooperation with the Japanese Ballet Association.
Through diverse insights into the entire spectrum of Japanese dance art and dance culture, both professional and amateur, a mutual exchange of experts on dance training structures and dance pedagogical methods was promoted, and sustainable opportunities for cooperation and mutual learning were discussed.
The exchange program, which is run by theFederal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth The program included impressive visits to traditional Japanese ballet schools, modern dance institutions and dance archives, as well as invitations to the German Embassy Tokyo and the Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology.
