Maud Butter is a dance teacher and choreographer. She received her first dance training in her native city of Jena. After successfully completing her university degree in business administration, she joined the Tanzhaus Benshausen in Thuringia as head of organization and dance education assistant to Eva Sollich. At the same time, she studied education and psychology, trained as a dance teacher and took part in all the dance training courses offered by the GDR’s Central House for Cultural Work.<\/p>\n
In 1983 she became a student of Aenne Goldschmidt, and the collaboration intensified from 1996 onwards. Maud Butter was appointed by her as her successor and conducts further training courses in various regions of Germany.<\/p>\n
Since 1989 she has worked as a dance teacher, training master and choreographer in the folklore dance ensemble “Thea Maass” at the TU Dresden, of which she has been artistic director since 2005.<\/p>\n
From 1989-2011, she taught folklore, modern dance, creative children’s dance and improvisation at the Children’s and Youth Dance Studio at TU Dresden<\/a> – and then also at the dance department of the Heinrich Sch\u00fctz Conservatory Dresden<\/a>.
