Dancing again – 16th Dance Week with an ambitious artistic program

The Eisenhüttenstadt Dance Week is always a very special highlight in the life of the dance clubs. The dancers have been rehearsing for months for their performance, which should be an unforgettable experience for the visitors. The opening program on Friday, 29 February at 8 p.m. in the Inselhalle features premieres from the Eisenhüttenstadt dance ensembles Fire & Flame, Oberland-Reigen, dance ensemble Kuz and belly dance group Mihrihmah as well as the folklore dance ensemble “Thea Maass” of the TU Dresden. The dance theater piece “VIDA – The Celebration of Life” with choreography by Vinicius will also be performed. The Brazilian dance duo Lú Brasil and Vinicius present a samba gala show together with the music trio Palmera at the cultural center on March 1 from 8 pm.
On Sunday, March 2, from 5:00 p.m. and Monday, March 3, from 10:00 a.m., the children’s dance groups will present themselves in the Inselhalle at the Dance on the Rainbow. You will be whisked away to the sensual world of the Orient on Tuesday, March 4, from 8 p.m. in the TheaterQuartier, before the next generation dances on Wednesday from 7 p.m. in the Inselhalle.
On the penultimate day of the dance week, there will be a night of short pieces at 8pm. Karoline Rödel, who used to dance with the Oderland-Reigen and is now training as a stage dancer at the “balance 1” dance academy in Berlin, will perform the piece “Death and the Maiden”. The Tchankee Dance Company will also delight audiences with “LEA”, choreography and dance with Philippe Fabre and Stefanie Giannetti, and the dance piece “Tres – unter Göttern” with Leila El-Jarad, Murah Sares and Sylka Rubina, which spans an arc between Africa, Brazil, Europe and the Orient.
The 16th Dance Week ends with the final program on Women’s Day at 6 pm.
