On September 28, 2025, the city of Pirna celebrated its harvest festival. The folk dance ensemble “Thea Maass” of TU Dresden was invited to make the celebration more lively and colorful. The Rosenka folk ensemble – Hrozenka group (FS Rosenka skupina Hrozenka) from Prague also made a guest appearance.

A beautiful stage was set up for our dances on Pirna’s market square. We began at 3 p.m. with the Rühler Springer. After our Dreisteyrer, the Prague dancers performed their sweet pillow dance and the Verbuňk, a South Moravian dance for recruiting soldiers.

The entire performance lasted almost two hours. Between dance performances, we also danced some social dances with the audience, both German and Czech. From the German Fröhlicher Kreis to the Czech Stone Bridge/Tunnel, the audience was totally enthusiastic. They were probably all almost professional dancers, because they learned the dances very quickly.

The performance ended with loud applause from the audience. At the end, we thanked the organizers and volunteers who had made this performance possible. And, of course, our biggest thanks also went to Marktzeile 3-6 (Kaffeestube Ilse, Restaurant Platzhirsch, and Hofladen HOF 15). Without their support, the performance would not have been possible.

The performance in Pirna has become one of our highlights since last year, and we hope that we will be able to dance there again next year!
