Am 27.April 2024 findet auf dem Dresdner Altmarkt nach 4-jähriger Pause endlich wieder das traditionelle Aufstellen des Maibaums durch die Dresdner Zimmerleute statt. Anschließend wird der Maibaum in einem Bändertanz festlich umtanzt und die 20 m langen Bänder tänzerisch geflochten. Umrahmt wird das ganze durch einen zünftigen Zimmermannsklatsch, einem Auftritt des Folkloretanzensembles „Thea Maass“ der TU Dresden und gesellige Tänze für ZuschauerInnen.
Das Event wird gestaltet durch die Stadt Dresden, die Dresdner Innung der Zimmerleute und das Folkloretanzensemble „Thea Maass“ der TU Dresden.
Für den Bändertanz suchen wir 30 tanzfreudige Menschen, eine Tanzerfahrung ist nicht erforderlich. Allerdings ist die Teilnahme an ALLEN 8 Probenterminen unumgänglich.

Dresden maypole dance – dancers wanted
On April 27, 2024, the traditional raising of the maypole by Dresden’s carpenters will finally take place again on Dresden’s Altmarkt after a 4-year break. Afterwards, the maypole will be danced around in a festive ribbon dance in which the 20 m long ribbons will be braided. The whole event is framed by a hearty carpenter’s clap, a performance by the folklore dance ensemble “Thea Maass” from the TU Dresden and sociable dances for spectators.
The event is organized by the City of Dresden, the Dresden Guild of Carpenters and
the folklore dance ensemble “Thea Maass” of the TU Dresden.
We are looking for 30 dance enthusiasts for the ribbon dance, no dance experience is required. However, participation in ALL 8 rehearsal dates is essential.
